The Mideast Freedom Forum Berlin (MFFB) and the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) from Tel Aviv held a joint international conference in Berlin as part of the program of the 50th anniversary of the German-Israeli Diplomatic Relations. The conference took place in Berlin in November 2015, and had the title: “Window of Opportunity or Collapse of a Region? - Western Middle East Policies and Israel after the Deal with Iran”.The conference was supported by Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME).
Topics of the conference were:
- to analyze the impact of the nuclear deal with Iran;
- to deepen the understanding for Israel’s security needs;
- to strengthen relations between Israeli and German scholars and decision makers;
- to inform the public about the developments in a rapidly changing Middle East;
- to raise awareness about the threats of Islamist movements and regimes,;
- to analyze the current situation in Syria after the escalation of the refugee crisis and Russia’s military intervention
